Experiences, Lessons & Strategies for Eliminating All Forms of Violence Against Women & Girls
// A Parallel Event to the 57th Session of UN CSW //
The South-South Exchange, hosted by the International Research Foundation for Development, (IRFD) is a meeting of minds among leading scholars, activists, and advocates from the global South working to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Placing voices from the global South front and center, the Exchange seeks to provide participants with a networking opportunity for:
- mutual sharing of experiences
- chronicling progress and lessons
- formulating strategies for eliminating all forms of VAWG
The Exchange will provide a platform for participants to identify successful models & interventions that can be applied in multiple locations, the most common or pressing challenges, and emerging themes in efforts to end VAWG.
To cap off the Exchange, participants will jointly formulate recommendations for UN and other entities, which will be compiled into a post-session document & action plan. Following the end of CSW 57, the South-South Exchange shall continue virtually and with regional events.
